'This beautiful story at last provides answers and support to children who have a parent suffering from mental illness. It is a book that should be read by all children, especially those dealing with mental illness in the family, but also teachers, counsellors and adults...'
- Dr. Johanne Piché Child Psychiatrist, Centre Hospitalier du Centre-de-la- Mauricie
This narrative is a touching story for children that deals with the complexities surrounding mental illness. The characters in the book mesmerize, all the while telling a story that informs and offers support to its readers, the children. Thanks to the generosity of Alcoa Foundation, Anna et la Mer was published in February
2005. It is one of the first books written in French aimed at children dealing with a mental health problem in the family. This book, which responds to a pressing need in the community, is now available to thousands of children in Quebec, to help them break their isolation and receive the help they need.
